Rolle to the Rescue - Cards over Bengals
Facing one of the most potent passing attacks in the league, how did the Arizona Cardinals defense respond? 4 INTs, one pick by Karlos Dansby, and the other three by Antrel Rolle, two of which he took to the house and the third being the game sealing pick. Rolle was huge yesterday, stepping up in nickel packages and filling in for SS Adrian Wilson to confuse Carson Palmer in the passing game and create those big time turnovers.
With this win, the Cards were able to keep pace with the Seahawks in the West, as they knocked off the Bears to stay a game up on us. Here was the story for this week’s win:
1. No Turnovers: Kurt Warner ran the offense exactly as he needed to, tossing two TDs and no picks. The Cards caused five turnovers and committed none, scoring 21 points off of those takeaways. Now that’s how you play a ballgame.
2. Big Time Receivers making big plays: Both Larry Fitzgerald and Anquan Boldin were big for the Cards today, each scoring a TD and also gathering key first downs on several drives.
3. Shutting down the Run: The Bengals couldn’t run anyway, but it’s always nice to hold a team to under 70 yards rushing in the NFL and once again allowing no rushing TDs for the second straight week.
So the Cards have won 2 in a row, next up - San Francisco! It’s payback time for that fluke victory they scored on us in week one. This time they come to our house and I am looking forward to complete domination. GO CARDS!!
