Well, 50% anyway.
I actually wrote the last article on Wednesday, but time stamped it to post on Friday, so I hope you guys didn’t read it and think that I was an idiot for writing about stuff that had already happened. Anyway…….
Like I said, 50% right. The Cards cut ties with underachieving FS Terrance Holt, D Lineman Cris Cooper and OL Oliver Ross. I predicted Holt, but assumed that Line Coach Russ Grimm would want to hold onto Ross because of their Pittsburgh connection. But as far as the salary cap goes, the team was able to clear somewhere around close to $6 million with these cuts. Now we can expect the team to tender a one year offer to OL Elton Brown for a paltry amount, and focus on using this money to try and lock in DE Antonio Smith.
And with the 2008 NFL Scouting Combine in full swing right now, and the free agent period set to begin in less than a week. We can definately expect some more roster shake ups to come very soon.
GO CARDS!!
