Well, like we all knew, the Arizona Cardinals just transferred all of their issues concerning contract extensions and possible trade rumors from one of their pro bowl wide outs, Larry Fitzgerald, to their other pro bowl receiver, Anquan Boldin. As expected, teams are taking notice of the situation out here in the desert and will probably look at this as an opportunity to drive a wedge between Quan and his loyalty to the Cards franchise.
ESPN analyst Matt Mosely’s published a report on Monday 17 March 08, discussing the nightmarish possibility of Boldin leaving for Big D to team up with Terrell Owens and Tony Romo in the Cowboys already high powered offense.
But honestly, I wouldn’t put a whole lot of stock in this talk as of now. Boldin is under contract for a further three years, and he may very well go into a holdout with the team if a deal cannot be done, but I would be surprised if that happens. Q is a quality guy, a high character player who the team knows is one of its core members. The team is not looking to lose him and break up the best receiving duo in the league. They will get this deal done and Q will not leave because even the Bidwells know that this team would have a hard time recovering if they lost Boldin.
Unfortunately, I would only expect these rumors to get worse as the off season continues. I have to admit that I always get a little freaked out when I read these articles about trading Fitz or Q, even though most of the time they are innocuous. So I just wanted to post something as soon as I read the article to calm everyone else out there in the Cardinals nation. The Dynamic Duo will live on………GO CARDS!!
