Johnson Out For the Rest of Camp

Center Al Johnson had successful knee surgery on Friday and the team is hopeful he can return to the field by game 1 or two of the regular season.  This injury leaves the Cardinals mighty thin at the Center position.  Third string C Scott Peters also got hurt this week and is out for the season.  That leaves second string Lyle Sendlein as the starter for now.  Being so thin at the position, the Cardinals signed C Pat Ross, who just got waived by the Carolina Panthers .

Al Johnson is a 6th year pro out of the University of Wisconsin.  His experience will be very necessary on a line that continues to grow, however is still relatively young.  Hopefully the Cardinals were ablt to get Johnson the help he needed in time to not have this affect the upcoming season.  Missing camp can have an affect on his season, however it is also important that they have experience on the line come September.  I think Sendlein and Ross can at least keep everything in check until Johnson returns.  Let’s just hope we don’t experience any more injuries on the line.
