Feature on Kurt Warner

Fox Sports ran a short piece on quarterback Kurt Warner this morning on the NFL on Fox.  I thought it was a very good piece and did a good job of really pointing out why Kurt Warner is the Arizona Cardinals starter and not Matt Leinart.

Kurt Warner said “I feel like there’s a little left in the tank”.  Then a minute later in the same interview with Pam Oliver, he talked about his frustration at having to play behind Leinart last season and during the first part of training camp.  “You feel you are the better guy and you’ve got to sit back and watch”.  Ouch!  That had to sting a little, but you know what?  It’s the absolute truth!

On why Warner give the Cardinals a great chance to win, when asked receiver Larry Fitzgerald said “Kurt diagnosis’s defenses well.”  Warner did say that he feels like he did back when St. Louis was successful earlier this decade.  He said that when he walks up to the line of scrimmage, he knows what to do and what will transpire.

When the piece ended, they went back to the studio and Jimmy Johnson offered his own opion as to why Warner is the starter and not Leinart and he put it in the most simplest terms anyone above the age of two could understand – “he’s (Leinart) not as good as Warner”.

Well said.

Go Cards!
