nope - Ive been a Dbacks fan ever since inception in 1998 (1995 when the franchise was announced). I am a native of Phoenix and will always root for the home team first. I was a Cubs fan growing up because of my dad. He went to Northwestern University and lived in Chicago for more than 4 years. So, he brought that to me. Since we didn't have a baseball team here and the because of my dad's love of the Cubs, it was natural for me to be a fan. I was so excited when the Dbacks were born. I wish my dad had been alive to see it.

So, no, I did not jump on the bandwagon after 2001. In fact, my wife and I got married at a Dbacks game in September 2001. Our first date was at a Dbacks game in May 1999 and I proposed to her at a Dbacks game in August 2000. She was a die hard as well - so there is nothing bandwagon about us when it comes to the Dbacks.

How do you grow up a die hard fan of one team and then become a die hard fan of another team? I am perplexed by this. Real fans just don't up and switch teams. Please don't tell me you became a D-Backs fan around, let me guess, 2001.
