Distraction for Steelers
Steelers tight end Jonathan Dekker was arrested early Saturday morning in Virgina after police responded to a complaint at 3:30am and then Dekker tried to flee. He was charged with obstruction of justice and is scheduled for a February 2nd hearing, the day after the Super Bowl. Dekker has been on injured reserve since August, so he wasn’t on the active roster. However, this is the type of distraction I’m sure the Steelers don’t want prior to leaving for Tampa. Now is the time to start making your marks for each team and the advantages one might have over the [...]
Tricks Up the Sleeve
The Cardinals have been living well keeping a balanced offensive attack over the past three games in defeating Atlanta, Carolina, and Philadelphia. The resurgence of Edgerrin James and the rise of the star that Larry Fitzgerald wears on his chest has a lot to do with where the Cardinals are today, preparing for their first Super Bowl. However, where do you think the Cardinals would stand today without the implementation of trick plays? First there was the Flea Flicker in the Atlanta game. Although not widely considered a “trick” play, it still remains as a play that you rarely see [...]
Interview with Fanster.com
I had the pleasure of being interviewed for Fanster.com’s 4 Downs segment. I and a couple of other Cardinals fan site bloggers were interviewed in an article posted on fanster today. Thanks to Greg Esposito for including me. Please click here for the entire article. Scott Allen
Cardinals Practice
The only player to not participate at all in Thursday’s practice was J.J. Arrington who is nursing an injured knee. Three other players, including Travis LaBoy, were limited. Coach Whisenhunt indicated the other day that he hoped to have J.J. ready to give it a go come Super Bowl Sunday. We’ll wait and see on that. As for other injuries, Anquan Boldin did fully participate in practice on Thursday. I used to hate the extra week in between the conference championships and the Super Bowl. Now, looking at it closer, I am very glad from a team perspective that they [...]

Local Super Bowl Predictions
I participated in a web chat this evening on abc15.com. Well, it was more like I and many other fans were able to ask questions of a panel that included the fine folks at ABC 15 Sports, Craig Fouhy and Jeff Heisner. I thank them for taking a couple of my questions. One question that was answered was their predictions for Super Bowl XLIII. Fouhy said he was taking the Cardinals. Heisner said he was not going to change his ways of picking against the Cards and will take the Steelers, in hopes that brings a championship to Arizona. Go [...]
Super Bowl XLIII: What They Are Saying Jan 22nd
With four days gone by in the countdown to Tampa and the teams only four more days from arriving in the Florida hot spot, the attention on the game and the teams is starting to pick up. Richard Sandomir of the New York Times discusses the Arizona Cardinals viewership draw around the country, or lack thereof. I was asked to contribute some thoughts to this piece, but unfortunately my tight schedule yesterday did not allow me to respond in a timely manner. He brings up some good points. I especially like the quote from NBC’s Al Michaels when asked about [...]

Cardinals Thoughts and More
There are some things that continue to play out as we are one day closer to Tampa and Super Bowl XLIII. Some thoughts about what people are talking about (and maybe not talking about so much). Will the Anquan Boldin story go away yet?…Do you get the feeling that Cardinals Offensive Coordinator Todd Haley may not be around long as he is quickly becoming a name being thrown around the NFL as a possible future head coach? I’ve just realized that if you want to be an NFL insider you’d better be a very old former General Manager or Director [...]
