Cards May Show Up With Full Deck

As the season was drawing to a close, it seemed unlikely that the Cardinals were going to be unable to hang on to their top three guys, Kurt Warner, Anquan Boldin, and Karlos Dansby.  At the very least, be able to keep two of the three.  The Cards were believed not to have enough extra cash available to sign all three.

That was then and this is now.

Although none of the three deals have been signed, sealed, or delivered, all three now look like strong possibilities for returning in 2009.

Kurt Warner stated via text message today that he is leaning towards returning next season.  His agent all but said it is a guarantee.  We know the two sides have been talking.

Karlos Dansby was hit with the franchise tag and now it is rumored his agents and the Cards are going to start talking.

Anquan Boldin might be the biggest surprise of them all.  He came out and said that he is now willing to come back at the right price.  Now, what price that may be, we don’t know.  However a door that was once supposedly shut tight with concrete, now has been opened if there is enough green on the other side.  I figured it might come down to that.  Listen, the guy had a phenomenal year.  He is a valuable asset and although he and mangement have not seen eye to eye, I believe Boldin clearly sees his value as a member of the Cardinals.  Like I said earlier in the season, if he performs, the Cardinals will do the right thing I believe and take care of him.

Although anything can still happen and it is still possible to not end up with any of the three, I for one am excited to see how this all plays out.  Stay tuned.
