Chris “Beanie” Wells Signs, Will Practice Today

Arizona Cardinals first round pick, running back Chris “Beanie” Wells signed a contract late Friday night and is expected to report this morning to camp in order to make practice this afternoon in Flagstaff.

Although he did not report on time on Wednesday, at this point Wells has only missed two practices.  I was certain Wells would not sign on time, however I also thought it might take a little longer, given the slow progress of first round signees around the NFL.  The signings did pick up a little on Friday, including Wells.

This is another sign the attitude around this team has changed, even in the front office.  It would not only have been detrimental to Wells to miss much more time, it also could have turned into a public relations nightmare for a team that is working hard to change its reputation.

Now everyone is in the fold.  Let’s see what Wells can bring.  He is the big back coach Ken Whisenhunt has been looking for.  Let’s also hope Wells can stay injury-free.

Go Cards!
