Third Preseason Game Brings More Action For Starters

As the Arizona Cardinals prepare for their third preseason game this week against the Green Bay Packers, coach Ken Whisenhunt indicated that the starters would play all of the first half and maybe into the third depending how things go in the first half Friday night.

Starters typically play the most in game three and typically the least in game four.  Enjoy what you see on Friday night because you won’t see much of Kurt Warner and company again until September 13th against San Francisco in the opener.

The receiver core, as deep as everyone touts it, seems to just get thinner.  Still nothing to be worried about too much right now, but could become a bothersome issue is injuries persist. Receiver Anquan Boldin is the latest to get injured.  He injured his hamstring.  Whisenhunt indicated it is just a “tweak” and Boldin is not ruled out of the game.  Don’t expect to see him though.  Not only would it be smart to hold him out, Boldin likes preseason games about as much as I enjoy reading about the Cowboys. Receiver Steve Breaston is already ruled out.
