After a short break for a trip to Pittsburgh, the Arizona Cardinals return to practice this afternoon at Cardinals Champ Camp in Flagstaff. This will be their last week in Flagstaff before returning home to face the San Diego Chargers on Saturday night at University of Phoenix Stadium in Glendale.  After that, the Cardinals will practice at their facility in Tempe starting next week The Cards will practice today from 4:15-5:30 and return for two more practices tomorrow.  Be on the look out for running back Beanie Wells.  Coach Ken Whisenhunt has said that he expects Wells to play on [...]

Cards-Steelers Tied 3-3 at Halftime

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: None Yet

Nice drive by Matt Leinart at the end of the second quarter.  Nice of the Steelers to give the Cards another chance to score before halftime. The Cards were given the benefit of a bad pass interference call to set up a Neil Rackers field goal.  It might have been a bad call…wait no it was a bad call, but I’ll take ‘em anyway I can get ‘em. We’ll see who plays in the second half.  We’ll probably see some Brian St. Pierre and would not be surprised to see some Tyler Palko. Second half about to start.

Cards-Steelers in Second Quarter

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals, Fanzone, Gameday | COMMENTS: None Yet

We are in the second quarter of the Cards-Steelers game.  Score is tied 0-0. Some early observations: Pass defense looks a little lax so far, but it’s only game 1. Kurt Warner looks in mid-season form and Tim Hightower is starting to see some daylight between the hashmarks.  I’m a little surprised the first team offense is still in there.  However it’s only their second drive, so that could be it. Calais Campbell should have had a sack for safety, but let Ben Roethlisberger slip through his arms. Go Cards! Scott Allen

Meteor Shower Alert in Pittsburgh

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals, Fanzone, Gameday, Training Camp | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

You no doubt were looking to the skies for a great show with the annual Perseid Meteor Shower before dawn this morning, however an even greater show may take place tomorrow night in Pittsburgh when the Arizona Cardinals take on the Pittsburgh Steelers. It’s preseason, however there are five things you should still be watching for: 1. Matt Leinart vs. Brian St. Pierre.  Don’t fool yourselves kids.  This battle for the backup quarterback position is closer than you think. 2. In-game Darnell Dockett Twitter updates.  Hey, the man, if nothing else, has been a great public figure for the fans [...]

Two Games You Shouldn’t Miss This Week On TV

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals, Fanzone, NFL, Off-Topic | COMMENTS: 3 Comments

Ok, I know, it’s the preseason, but it’s the NFL people! There are seven games this weekend on national television – five on the NFL Network (who will be showing local feeds), and two on ESPN. The first game you shouldn’t miss this weekend is your Arizona Cardinals going to Pittsburgh to play the Steelers on ESPN, Thursday night.  Sure, it’s not the Super Bowl, but you know, it’s still a good match up, even if the starters are only going to play a couple of series.  So, tune in early or you will miss the best action. Kurt Warner, [...]

Hall Of Fame Game Opens Preseason Tonight

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals, Fanzone, Training Camp | COMMENTS: None Yet

As the Arizona Cardinals have the day off from practice after record crowds for yesterday’s scrimmage at an estimated attendance of 10,000-12,000 people, the NFL gets ready to kick off it’s preseason tonight in Canton, Ohio with the Buffalo Bills facing the Tennessee Titans in the Hall of Fame Game. As for the inductees, they include Buffalo Bills Owner Ralph Wilson Jr., former Bills players Bruce Smith and Thurman Thomas, former Dallas Cowboys receiver Bob Hayes, the late Kansas City Chief Derrick Thomas, and Phoenix’s own Randall McDaniel. Congrats to all! As for the Cardinals, they take a day off [...]

Cardinals News and Notes: August 6th

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: None Yet

Light schedule today at training camp due to last night’s practice at Lumberjack Stadium. The team practiced in shorts today. Not much in the way of new news, although I did fail to mention yesterday that FB Justin Green went on IR. Some NFL officials were in attendance at practice today going over the rules.  There are some new ones this year, so I hope they were paying attention. Tomorrow the Cardinals have two practices, one in the morning from 9:05-10:30 and one in the afternoon from 3:05-5:05. Go Cards! Scott Allen

G.I. Joe Not Shown to Critics, Who See Cardinals Instead

AUTHOR: | IN: Off-Topic | COMMENTS: None Yet

What if that were really true?  Well the part where the critics go see the Arizona Cardinals instead of G.I. Joe: Rise of the Cobra, opening this Friday.  The part where the movie studio, Paramount in this case, isn’t screening the movie for critics in advance of Friday’s release date, is completely true. Remember the days when Cardinals Training Camp resembled an event people weren’t invited to?  More people used to be found at a movie in Flagstaff than out on the football field on the Northern Arizona University Campus on a sunny August day. The thought of seeing even [...]

Anquan Boldin A Fan Favorite

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: None Yet

Receiver Anquan Boldin is doing more than practicing these days. After practice yesterday for example, he was found signing autographs for over an hour after practice had ended.  That is ‘Q for you.  He may be in the midst of a contract squabble with the Arizona Cardinals, however, that has not carried over to the football field. He has always said he appreciates his teammates and especially the fans support.  This is a different ‘Q though than we saw last summer at training camp and I love it.  He has quickly grown into one of the most popular players, for [...]
