Reactions to the Cardinals Loss to the Niners

I’m of course not the only one discussing the disappointing loss to the San Francisco 49ers today.  Here are some reactions from others today.

Mike Sando of ESPN.com said the Card performance today “did nothing to erase the feeling that the Cardinals were missing something during the exhibition season.”  I couldn’t agree more.

Kent Somers of The Arizona Republic said the defensive effort should have been enough for the Cardinals to win.  Exactly….if you take out the pass defense, especially in the fourth quarter.

Craig Morgan of CBSSports.com said that the “well of confidence beneath this franchise is shallow.”  He’s right, whatever confidence was built in the 2008 playoffs has seemed to disappear quickly.

Gwen Knapp of the San Francisco Chronicle said the 49ers won on defense, effort, discipline and calm stubbornness.  That’s exactly the point I was trying to make in my post game analysis.  Clearly, the Niners wanted it more when it counted.
