NFL Kickoff Weekend. A glorious weekend, at least for 16 teams. Your Arizona Cardinals would not be one of those 16 teams. After struggling most of the first half, the Cardinals and San Francisco 49ers traded leads in the second half, however after the Niners took the lead after a 16 play drive, the Cardinals once again looked a mess on offense and couldn’t score again. Neither team moved the ball well in the first half. However Arizona killed themselves with 12 penalties today and two crucial turnovers. Both factors really kept the Cardinals offense in check. Arizona had a [...]
Gameday is Here; Latest Reports
Gameday is finally here! The Arizona Cardinals host the San Francisco 49ers today at University of Phoenix Stadium at 1:15pm. The biggest question is Anquan Boldin. Will he or won’t he play? He is listed as questionable on the injured list, however I would not be surprised to see him out there today, at least in limited fashion. The rest of the list is below. San Francisco 49ers at Arizona Cardinals Name Position Injury Practice Status Game Status SF Ahmad Brooks LB Knee Out (Definitely Will Not Play) Out Brandon Jones WR Shoulder Out (Definitely Will Not Play) Out ARZ [...]
Arizona Cardinals Sellout Opener
It’s official, the Arizona Cardinals announced they have sold out the game on Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. I imagine then it must be news to ticketmaster.com. I just went online and was able to secure 4 seats to the game (not that I would pay $80 per ticket plus the $16 in fees that go along with each ticket, which is amazingly ridiculous). Obviously sellout doesn’t mean all tickets sold. Interesting. I’ll probably be at my local eating and drinking establishment watching. Go Cards! Scott Allen
Cardinals – 49ers: What They Are Saying
So, you have my take on the Arizona Cardinals – San Francisco 49ers game. What are others saying? Sports-Odds.com lists the Cardinals as -6.5 favorites. The Washingtonpost.com says the Cards offense will have to overcome an inconsistent defense. An AP story on sportingnews.com writes that Crazy things happen when these two teams get together. No doubt! Will the Madden curse get Larry Fitzgerald on Sunday? It’s already hit Troy Polamalu. Check out the usatoday.com. Mike Sando of espn.com also put together a piece of what others are saying about the Cardinals. Still waiting to hear on an official word on [...]
Which team will come out to play Sunday for the Arizona Cardinals when they host the San Francisco 49′ers at University of Phoenix Stadium? Will it be the team that went 0-4 in the preseason, leaving many doubters about the success of this team or will the team that made the playoff run to the Super Bowl eight months ago come to play? My best guess is you will see a little of both. First, the starters will play the whole game, not just a few series. Secondly, it is the home opener, against an inferior, yet improving, 49′ers team. [...]
Still Short of a Sellout
The Arizona Cardinals, as of yesterday, were still 2,000 tickets shy of a sellout. It would be their first non-sellout since moving to University of Phoenix Stadium in 2006. Local media outlets today are still reporting it today with the same number, obviously not calling the Cardinals for an update. Those 2000 tickets are sold on ticketmaster.com. Not included in the number are the scores of tickets already sold and being re-sold on ebay.com, craigslist.com, and stubhub.com. Cheapest tickets found as of 7pm Wednesday evening below. Ebay: $50 – Auction, $45 – Buy It Now (1 ticket). Craigslist: $35 each [...]
Boldin and Breaston Bruised but Will Play
Arizona Cardinals receivers Anquan Boldin and Steve Breaston are both nursing injuries, however both stand good chances of playing this Sunday against the San Francisco 49ers. Boldin put it out there himself when interviewed by Fox Sports Arizona last night during the Arizona Diamondbacks – Los Angeles Dodgers game. He said he would “definitely” play. Cards Coach Ken Whisenhunt today said chances are “very good”. Breaston has a bruise on his knee, but he played through it last week in Denver and will do the same this Sunday.
NFL Week One Predictions
The NFL Season is finally upon us. With that being said, here are my picks for week one. I realize I may be tipping my hat in my pick’em league, but I doubt that I will have a lot of people agree with me, given my knack for picking the underdogs – and losing a lot! Thursday: Tennessee @ Pittsburgh – Pittsburgh. It should be a good close game, however being at home, season opener, it will prove to be too much for the team from Nashville. Sunday: Miami @ Atlanta – Atlanta. 21 % of my league participants have [...]
Cardinals Add Several To Practice Squad
It wasn’t exactly the four guys I would have thought to seen first on the practice squad, however, the players the Arizona Cardinals added to their practice squad were all part of the team in training camp. Added today are: Signed were guard Trevor Canfield, defensive tackle Keilen Dykes, defensive end Alex Field and wide receiver Edward Gant. I’m a little surprised to see Gant, however the best among the WR cuts was Onrea Jones, and he was signed to the Washington Redskins practice squad yesterday. The Cardinals still have four spots they can fill on the practice squad roster. [...]
