Cards Continue as Road Warriors, Crush Bears 41-21
The Arizona Cardinals continued their dominance on the road Sunday, scoring on their first five possessions en route to a 41-21 victory in Chicago. It was a game where the passing defense once again gave up the most yards of the day, however the rushing defense was back in place, only allowing Bears running back Matt Forte to run for 32 yards. For a little while in the first quarter it looked like it would just go back and forth with both teams taking the ball right down the field in their first drives. However, the Cards managed to run [...]
TV Dinner: NFL Power Rankings
Now that we are halfway through the season for some and some about to hit the halfway mark in Week 8 this weekend, I thought I would take some time to put out my current power rankings with a twist. If each team were a current (or former if a current doesn’t fit) television show, which show would they be? 1. New Orleans Saints – No one wins in the Saints house. Just as no one wins with (Dr.) House on Fox. He and the Saints have something in common, they are both stubborn, but seem to get it right [...]
Success is Earned, Not Asked for
When the Arizona Cardinals defeated the New York Giants last week, all we could talk about was what little acknowledgment the Cards were getting for their great game. Rather everyone was asking what was wrong with the Giants? Maybe that’s the way it should have been. Now, I found several items from national media that was giving the Cards credit and I posted some of those links. However, when even quarterback Kurt Warner is complaining the national media isn’t giving them due credit, you know you’re dealing with a team that really is asking for success, not earning it. The [...]
Cards Bomb at Home, Crushed 34-21
Here I thought Halloween was yesterday. Nope. I was wrong. Today was the scariest day of the year and to dress like someone or something else. That’s exactly what the Arizona Cardinals did today. They dressed like someone else. It certainly couldn’t have been THE Arizona Cardinals out there today in their 34-21 loss to the Carolina Panthers, could it have been?? This was just about no contest from the get go. Arizona was exposed for the first time this season in rushing defense. DeAngelo Williams and Jonathan Stewart both ran over the Cards defense like it didn’t even exist, [...]
The month of November will be very telling about who and what the Arizona Cardinals of 2009 are all about, facing five teams that are currently a combined 7-25 heading into today’s action. It all starts with a home game at 2:15 pm today against a surprisingly struggling Carolina Panthers team (2-4). Arizona’s defense must be salivating, at least the secondary. After struggling for the first four games somewhat, the secondary had a big game last week against the New York Giants, intercepting Giants quarterback Eli Manning three times. Now they get to face Carolina quarterback Jake Delhomme, who has [...]
