Cardinals Have Options at Number 26

For what the Arizona Cardinals are looking for in the upcoming NFL Draft, the Cardinals seem to have some choices and even at number 26 may still have muliple options available.  Linebacker seems to be the one position that most experts agree upon in their mock drafts.

I wrote the other day about how this was the position the Cardinals should be looking at first.  Their most glaring needs are going to be on the offensive side of the ball.  It also wouldn’t hurt to look at quarterbacks and draft one they can hopefully groom to be the eventual starter here one day.  Personally, I still don’t believe the Cards brass is 100% sold on the future of Matt Leinart as Cardinals starter.

So what do you think?  I pose two questions to you today.  If the Cardinals do go linebacker, which one should they choose if available?  Also, what would you say is the next most important position to look at in the draft?

Wow, where do we start? I beleive this team is toast. Warner’s gone, so is some of our defense. Our secondary was lit up last year and doesn’t look to be getting any better. We can’t run the ball either. They will be lucky to be .500 at midseason.

In my opinion, after a couple seasons with exceptional offense, our defense needs a huge facelift, with key guys leaving, I would expect the cards to address the secondary( at least just to give some depth and competition). I am not too worried about linebacker, the position I am most fearfull of is the guard position. Lineart is a lefty, get some depth at that position….

I keep read sites that talk about coping with the stress and great ideas, and seeing your information is encouraging, because it is not so easy as they say it is..

Cards need to draft a Q-back w/legs in 4th round. 1st three rounds draft defense and 4th round guard. Make Matt run a bit on 3rd & short this yr to keep teams honest.

I like the Cards going QB in the 3rd or 4th. Not a deep draft for Qb’s and the further they wait, they bigger bust they may end up with.

I myself am not sold on Matt Leinart as a quarterback. As a person yes. But the cards need an immediate impact at QB to stay in contention.maybe somebody in free agency. with more experience to help groom the other QB’s. Defense doesn’t look too bad. But since the cards have raised the bar on their performance.this is now what I feel most people are expecting.

Im not sold on Leinart either, but we have to give him a chance. He essentially lost his job due to injury and then Kurt Warner revived his own career. Leinart needs to see consistent playing time to see how he does and the Cards need top open up the playbook for him in preseason. If he can’t get it done, then they will have options, which I hope includes a draft pick.
