2010 NFL Schedule Released Today

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals, Fanzone, NFL, Predictions | COMMENTS: None Yet

One of the days on the NFL calendar we all look forward to, the release of the 2010 NFL schedule. The Arizona Cardinals have some intriguing match-ups this season.  I just hope the schedule makers are kind and don’t stack up road games at the beginning or end of the season, especially the end. The lucky part is that the Cardinals don’t have to go to New York this year.  No New England.  No Philadelphia.  In reality the Cardinals only have two potential cold weather games, Carolina and Kansas City.  Their games in Minnesota and Atlanta are both inside.  There, [...]

Arizona Cardinals First Round Draft History

AUTHOR: | IN: 2010 Draft, Cardinals | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

The Arizona Cardinals have had their share of gems and busts in the first round since moving to Arizona in 1988. This year, 2010, the Cardinals have the number 26 pick in the first round and all indications are no matter who they get at the position, it will be someone who can make an impact immediately. Let’s take a look at some of the players the Cardinals have taken in the first round since 1988. Ken Harvey, their first pick after moving to Arizona, as we all know, paid great dividends for the team.  he always played hard, tough, [...]

Ranking the Best Available Quarterbacks

AUTHOR: | IN: 2010 Draft, Cardinals, Fanzone, NFL, Predictions | COMMENTS: None Yet

There has been so much talk about the Arizona Cardinals looking for options at quarterback outside of current Cards QB’s Matt Leinart and Derek Anderson, the possibility of the Cardinals taking a quarterback in the draft is a strong possibility.  With Donovan McNabb landing in Washington, it would be no surprise that the Cards find a third quarterback in this week’s 2010 NFL Draft, possibly even at number 26 if their defensive wants are already off the board. Here are my rankings of the top five quarterbacks available in the draft. 1. Sam Bradford, Oklahoma It would be a surprise [...]

Reviewing NFL Draft Defensive Line Options

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: None Yet

As we get closer to the 2010 NFL Draft next Thursday, it seems more and more likely there may not be a good inside or outside linebacker worthy of a number 26 pick, so it may come down to another position.  Take the Arizona Cardinals defensive line for instance.  With Darnell Dockett and Calais Campbell, surely the line has two of the NFL’s best.  However that doesnt mean you can’t be hungry for more.  They need more. So, who are the best linemen available at number 26?  Well, we know Ndamukong Suh from Nebraska won’t be there and there is really only [...]

Cardinals Have Options at Number 26

AUTHOR: | IN: 2010 Draft, Cardinals | COMMENTS: 7 Comments

For what the Arizona Cardinals are looking for in the upcoming NFL Draft, the Cardinals seem to have some choices and even at number 26 may still have muliple options available.  Linebacker seems to be the one position that most experts agree upon in their mock drafts.  I wrote the other day about how this was the position the Cardinals should be looking at first.  Their most glaring needs are going to be on the offensive side of the ball.  It also wouldn’t hurt to look at quarterbacks and draft one they can hopefully groom to be the eventual starter [...]

Mike Brown Visits the Cardinals

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals, Fanzone, News, NFL | COMMENTS: None Yet

My only question when I heard Mike Brown was visiting the Arizona Cardinals was why?  Don’t get me wrong, I like what the guy has to offer.  He is a very good player.  He actually made ti through a whole season in 2009 without injury, something that has dogged the local player from Scottsdale and Nebraska alum.  I ask why the visit only because the Cardinals seem to be set in the defensive backfield.  Someone of his calibur can’t ride the bench.  I have been reading some locally are concerned with his age.  I don’t worry so much about his [...]

Checking In With Cardinals Tweeters

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals, Fanzone, Off-Topic | COMMENTS: None Yet

So, thought I would do a check in with some of our Arizona Cardinals players and see what they have been tweeting about.  Cards wide receiver Larry Fitzgerald (LFitzgerald11) “Man I’m glad to see my boy Tiger back playing golf!  I didnt watch one tournament when he wasnt playing & now im excited 2 watch again!” Really Fitz?  I really don’t get it.  I know he’s one of the best golfers, but really?  People are treating the Tiger Woods return at The Masters like he’d been gone for years.  He only missed the first three months of the season.  Cards running back Beanie Wells [...]

Cardinals First Round Pick Could be Going Linebacker

AUTHOR: | IN: 2010 Draft, Cardinals, Fanzone | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

We all know the NFL draft is coming up in two weeks.  With all the changes the Arizona Cardinals have seen this off-season so far, one might think the Cards have a lot of voids.  Well, not as many as you would think, but there are a few positions they should focus on.  Linebacker should be addressed first.  I like Sergio Kindle from Texas.  He might be available when it comes time to pick in the first round.  I also really like Jerry Hughes from Texas Christian.  I would count on Hughes being available more than Kindle.  Mike Sando from espn.com likes Sean [...]

Report: Redskins Win Donovan McNabb Sweepstakes

AUTHOR: | IN: Breaking News, Cardinals, Fanzone, News, NFL | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Arizona Cardinals will not be getting valley resident Donovan McNabb.  Adam Schefter from ESPN is reporting that the Philadelphia Eagles have traded McNabb to the Washington Redskins. Maybe that earthquake we felt in Arizona this afternoon was felt as far away as Philadelphia and Washington.  Surely, this will be a trade that will be talked about for a long time.  There is no report yet on what Philadelphia is getting in return. For now, welcome to the Matt Leinart era. Scott Allen
