Best of NFC West: Defensive Backfield

We at raisingzona.com, along with ramblinfan.com, 12thmanrising.com, and ninernoise.com are currently working to come up with the best NFC West players, an “NFC West All-Star Team” if you will.

Today we look at the defensive backfield:

Arizona Cardinals: Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, Adrian Wilson, Kerry Rhodes

Seattle Seahawks: Marcus Trufant, Lawyer Milloy, Kelly Jennings

San Francisco 49ers: Taylor Mays, Will James, Michael Lewis

St. Louis Rams: Kevin Dockery, James Butler, Jerome Murphy

My Take:

Arizona’s defensive backfield definitely makes big plays, but also has a tendency to get burned.  Adrian Wilson is a hard hitter and a Pro-Bowler.  don’t overlook Seattle’s Trufant or Milloy.  Taylor Mays in San Francisco is poised to be the real deal and could end up being better than all of them by the time he hangs it up.  I go Wilson, Trufant, and Rodgers-Cromartie.

I’m curious how you came up with the players listed. For the 9ers, you listed Will James who will be a #3 corner at best behind Nate Clements and Shawnte Spencer. For Safety, you left out Dashon Goldson who is one of their best players in the secondary.
