Cardinals Mistakes Dominate First Quarter

AUTHOR: | IN: 2010 Gameday, Breaking News, Cardinals, Fanzone | COMMENTS: None Yet

Interception – check. Poor run defense – check. Bad penalties – check.  Not sure if there is such a thing as a good one, but they had a personal foul that assisted  Atlanta in their first touchdown drive.  Also two, count them, two illegal formation penalties. So, all of that gives the Falcons a 7-0 lead and driving into the second quarter.  Not a good start and all signs point to this disaster continuing to sink in Atlanta.

Beanie Officially Inactive

AUTHOR: | IN: 2010 Gameday, Breaking News, Cardinals, Fanzone | COMMENTS: None Yet

Well, no surprise here, Beanie Wells has officially been listed as inactive for the Arizona Cardinals game against the Atlanta Falcons. So, here the keys to a Cardinals victory today: Must gain a better balance on offense.  In order to do that Tim Hightower is going to need to make sure none of his balls hits the ground.  A couple of fumbles, and the Cards will fall behind and be forced to pass the balance of the afternoon. Crowd control.  This is the Falcons home opener.  It’s a loud place to begin with.  Falcons are 13-3 in the (head coach) [...]

Gameday Preview: Arizona Cardinals vs. Atlanta Falcons

AUTHOR: | IN: 2010 Gameday, 2010 Season, Cardinals, Fanzone | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Arizona Cardinals continue their early season road trip with a trip to face the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday at the Georgia Dome. TV/Radio:  FOX 10/92.3 FM KTAR Game Outlook: The Arizona Cardinals are 1-0.  The Atlanta Falcons are 0-1.  Many observers believe it easily could be the other way around.  If you ask the oddsmakers, they’d have you believe the Falcons are going to run all over the Cardinals tomorrow.  Speaking of running, the Cards running game is in trouble again.  Beanie Wells will most likely miss his second game, although it is still officially a game day decision.  [...]

A Rule is a Rule, but NFL Needs to Lighten Up

AUTHOR: | IN: News, NFL, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

Last weekend, two suspended NFL players attended their teams games…as spectators.  Aqib Talib of the Tampa Bay Buccaneers and Leroy Hill of the Seattle Seahawks went to their teams games and sat in the stands as their teams played out on the field. Neither player had contact with their team at all during last Sunday’s games.  One problem, as a suspended player, the NFL prohibits you from even being in the stadium as a spectator. Hill sat in the stands during the Seahawks 31-6 victory over the San Francisco 49′ers.  Coach Pete Carroll was unaware of the rule, however said [...]

Here’s a look at some of the best tweets of the day on Twitter from your Arizona Cardinals: afan66 (Alan Faneca): Just checked in the hotel in Atl.  My room smells like that crap they spray after they smoked in it I know that smell.  Just where they staying?  Best Western? MdKomar22 (Max Komar): What’s going on tweeps?  Made it to Atlanta safely..watching the southern miss vs. Kansas football game So that’s as good as it gets in the hotel room huh?  Wow. ddockett (Darnell Dockett): I got fined $5,000 for tweeting inside 90 minutes of kickoff.  And the reporters/media [...]

Don’t Look for Beanie on Sunday

AUTHOR: | IN: 2010 Season, Cardinals, Fanzone | COMMENTS: None Yet

Well, we got the news that was the most likely answer we’d get after Arizona Cardinals practice today, that Beanie Wells was once again limited in practice.  He is going to be a game -day decision. Besides the fact that it puts fantasy owners in a bind, like yours truly, it puts the team again in a bind to game plan without him.  That means most likely more of an imbalance between rushing and passing on Sunday against the Atlanta Falcons.  The good news it that coach Ken Whisenhunt said that the chemistry between Derek Anderson and Larry Fitzgerald was [...]

Adrian Wilson NFC Defensive Player of the Week

AUTHOR: | IN: 2010 Season, Breaking News, Cardinals, Fanzone, News, NFL | COMMENTS: None Yet

As I predicted after the Arizona Cardinals win over the St. Louis Rams on Sunday, safety Adrian Wilson was named NFC Defensive Player of the Week today.  How could he not after numbers like these: 2 Interceptions 1 sack 1 Blocked Field Goal Sounds like a full month to me.  Wilson now has 25 career interceptions and 21.5 career sacks.  He is only the 10th player in NFL history with at least 20 of  both.  Quite impressive.

Beanie Limited in Practice

AUTHOR: | IN: 2010 Season, Cardinals, Fanzone | COMMENTS: None Yet

I don’t know whether to take this as good news or bad news.  Arizona Cardinals running back Beanie Wells did practice today.  However he was limited. To me, in order for the Cards to have a chance this week against the Atlanta Falcons, we need Beanie Wells in the backfield.  Nothing against Tim Hightower, but if we have a strong two-headed monster against what is sure to be a fired up defense in their home opener, Wells needs to do everything he can to play on Sunday. LaRod Stephens-Howling did a commendable job this past Sunday, but he isn’t the [...]

NFL Power Rankings: Week 2

AUTHOR: | IN: NFL, Power Rankings | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

The Bob Sanders, Ryan Grant, Kris Jenkins “I’m Out For the Season” division: 32. New York Jets – Sorry NY.  When your penalties almost outgain your offense, you suck. 31. Chicago Bears -  Apology #2 Chicago.  You are lucky to get a win over the Matt Safford-less Lions. 30. Cleveland Browns – You lost to the Tampa Buccaneers.  Enough said. 29. Tampa Bay Bucs – You ALMOST lost to the Browns. 28. Dallas Cowboys – Oh how the mighty have fallen.  Thanks for the laughs Tashard Choice. 27. San Francisco 49ers – There are more mysteries surrounding this team than [...]
