Kansas City Chiefs Offense Vs. Arizona Cardinals Defense

AUTHOR: | IN: 2010 Gameday, 2010 Season, Cardinals, Fanzone | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

When you compare the numbers between the Kansas City Chiefs offense and the Arizona Cardinals defense, there really is no comparison.  The numbers say it all and say this should be no contest today.  No, I’m not talking about the Cards defense making it no contest, I’m talking about the Chiefs defense.

The Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs meet this week.  No one is sure about the Chiefs yet and in this clip provided by Don Best Sports, Dave Tulley from ViewfromVegas.com thinks odds makers may be overreaching with making KC an eight point favorite over the Cards today.  Personally, I think they could make the Cards 14-15 point underdogs and be alright.

Todd Haley, current head coach for the Kansas City Chiefs, since leaving the Arizona Cardinals as offensive coordinator before last season, is 9-16 as the head coach of the Chiefs.  Since that same time, the Cards are 13-12.  The Chiefs are improving and fast though.

You Can Count On Haley Shaking Whisenhunt’s Hand

Last week, a lot was made of Kansas City Chiefs head coach Todd Haley’s refusal to shake the hand of Denver Broncos head coach Josh McDaniels after Denver’s 49-29 drubbing of the Chiefs at Invesco Field.  Not only did Haley refuse to shake his hand, he pointed his finger at the Broncos head coach.

Another Early Sunday Game

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals, Fanzone, Off-Topic | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Arizona Cardinals not only have the task of going and facing a good team on Sunday in the Kansas City Chiefs, they are faced with playing one in another time zone, another early Sunday game. Not exactly the Eastern Time Zone, but still effective and having the Cards play earlier than they are used to.

The Last Time the Cardinals Met the Chiefs

The last time the Arizona Cardinals met the Kansas City Chiefs was in 2006 at University of Phoenix Stadium. The Chiefs defeated the Cards 23-20 after Arizona had jumped out to an early 14-0 lead.  Chiefs quarterback Damon Huard was 26-38 for 288 yards and 2 TD’s.  Much of that was to Chiefs running back Larry Johnson, who caught 6 passes for 106 yards.

Arrowhead Stadium vs. Qwest Field

AUTHOR: | IN: 2010 Season, Cardinals, Fanzone, Off-Topic | COMMENTS: None Yet

Noise.  Noise on the road.  The Arizona Cardinals don’t play particularly well on the road in noisy stadiums.  This season, they’ve continued to prove that.  Qwest Field in Seattle, The Metrodome in Minneapolis, The Georgia Dome in Atlanta, Qualcomm Stadium in San Diego.  They are all loud places, especially Qwest Field in Seattle, where the crowd is affectionately known as the 12th man. This week though in Kansas City, it may be the toughest place for the Cards yet.

Arizona Cardinals Injury Status

The Arizona Cardinals avoided the injury bug for the most part early, however lately they can’t seem to shake the injuries.  Beanie Wells, LaRod Stephens-Howling, Jason Wright, are among at least eight players who are listed as questionable for Sunday’s game against the Kansas City Chiefs.  Here’s a look at the list of the wounded.

AUTHOR: | IN: 2010 Season, Cardinals, Fanzone, Q&A | COMMENTS: None Yet

I had the chance to swap questions with the Kansas City Chiefs lead blogger, Patrick Allen, ahead of this weekend’s match up between the Arizona Cardinals and Kansas City Chiefs.  He provided answers on his thoughts about their head coach Tood Haley, their biggest surprise and busts and his thought on the Chiefs start to the season.
