With a couple of teams recently moving their training camp back to team headquarters, it is now a common question being asked around the league. Where will you hold training camp? For the Arizona Cardinals, the answer was simple: Flagstaff.
A few weeks ago I made mention of the impact having the Cardinals in Flagstaff has to both the city and Northern Arizona University. It has both an economic impact and mental one on the players too. Oh, let’s not forget what kind of shape it puts the players in too with training at 7,000 feet above sea level.
For the players, being in the cool pines versus being in the hot desert makes all the difference in the world. For the fans, it has the same effect. What it also allows the fans is the opportunity to watch the practices. In Tempe, fans don’t get that luxury. No matter how long training camp lasts, if training camp even happens, it is nice to know it will stay in Flagstaff.
