Well, maybe it won’t be a four RB rotation after all?  After the signing of draft pick Ryan Williams earlier today, the Arizona Cardinals announced they have traded running back Tim Hightower to the Washington Redskins for defensive end Vonnie Holliday.

These Aren’t Your Father’s Arizona Cardinals

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Season, Cardinals, Fanzone, Off-Topic, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

When the Arizona Cardinals moved to Arizona from St. Louis in 1988, it was a great day for football fans in the State of Arizona.  Sure, we weren’t getting the Pittsburgh Steelers or Dallas Cowboys, however we were getting NFL Football.  What we quickly learned though was the Cardinals didn’t like to spend money.  Like choosing Top Ramen over everything else kind of not liking to spend money.  It was no secret it was difficult to get players to come to Arizona to play.  Sun Devil Stadium was a college stadium, it was too hot to play there in September [...]

The Arizona Cardinals might have just made the biggest splash into the free agent market since they moved to Arizona 23 years ago.  Today, they got the complete tight end they’ve been searching for since the days Jay Novacek bolted for the Dallas Cowboys.  Free Agent Todd Heap, formerly of the Baltimore Ravens, signed a two-year deal with the Cardinals Sunday morning.

Patrick Peterson Signs With Arizona Cardinals

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Draft, 2011 Season, Breaking News, Cardinals, Fanzone, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

The one guy the Arizona Cardinals had to get into camp as soon as possible has made it.  First round draft pick, cornerback Patrick Peterson, signed a five-year deal with the Cards this afternoon.  So far he has only missed conditioning and one practice.  If Peterson is to be the force the Cards are going to count on him being, then it was a must that his deal get done sooner rather than later.

Cardinals Get Stuckey Finding a Number Two Receiver

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Free Agents, 2011 Season, Breaking News, Cardinals, Fanzone | COMMENTS: 1 Comment

Hopefully the search for a number two wide receiver will continue for the Arizona Cardinals this weekend because the pickup of former Cleveland Browns and New York Jets receiver Chansi Stuckey only give the Cards another number three receiver at best.  Last season Stuckey had 40 receptions for 346 yards.

Cardinals Get a Cornerback

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Free Agents, Breaking News, Cardinals, Fanzone | COMMENTS: None Yet

Well, it’s not Nnamdi Asomugha, but the Arizona Cardinals dipped their feet into the cornerback pond this morning and picked up former Carolina Panthers CB Richard Marshall.  Not exactly the name I was looking for, but it does bring in someone with a little experience.

Cardinals Make Trip to Corner Market and Forget to Get Bread and Butter

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Free Agents, 2011 Season, Cardinals | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Arizona Cardinals have visited the corner market quite a bit this week.  First, they went to sell a big time cornerback, Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, in order to get a big-time quarterback, one they desperately needed.  Then they made a return trip today to try to buy another cornerback,  Nnamdi Asomugha, only to take their list and forget to bring home the bread and butter.  Turns out, the bread and butter cost too much.  Now, they’ll have to wait for the weekly ads to come out to see if there is an advertised corner that comes much cheaper.

Goodbye DRC, You Will Be Missed

AUTHOR: | IN: Cardinals | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

I will miss Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie, and he goes out with a lot of class as documented in his official statement upon leaving the Arizona Cardinals found here http://bit.ly/rnm8IV My two best memories of him were:   1) The 99-yard interception against Rams which clinched the game and an NFC West division for the Cardinals.   2) The unbelievable interception against the Giants in the end zone.   He also had an uncanny ability to catch up to a receiver (or sometimes almost catch up) when he was beaten by four steps and you thought for sure it was going to be a touchdown for the other team.
