Arizona Cardinals Roster A to Z: Gerald Hayes

As we wait for the NFL labor situation to be resolved, this is a continuation of a series on current Arizona Cardinals players and my thoughts on the past performance all the way to whether I think they will be on the roster in 2011. I go from A and go to Z.  Next up: Linebacker Gerald Hayes

2010 season in review: Hayes only played in 6 games in 2010, starting only 4 of them.  It was a disappointing season to say the least.  He still managed 33 tackles in those 6 games, so as usual he was active.  That’s what you want, a player making plays, his name being called often and for all the right reasons.  Injury though once again did him in.

2011 outlook:  He’s not getting any younger, but linebacker is a spot the Cardinals are getting older at and will be getting even more so if Daryl Washington were to be traded.  If healthy, I’d have to say look for another good season from Hayes.  It will be just that though, a matter of his health that will determine the level of his success in 2011.
