Cardinals’ Kolb Gets All the Wednesday Reps

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Season, Cardinals, Fanzone, News, Rumors | COMMENTS: None Yet

Arizona Cardinals quarterback Kevin Kolb apparently took all the reps today at practice at the Cardinals complex in preparation for this week’s game against the Dallas Cowboys.  Although nothing was confirmed, clearly this shows Kolb is ready to go and will be the starter this Sunday.  It’s about time.  Kolb hasn’t played since injuring his tow against the Baltimore Ravens on October 30th.  He missed four games in all, with the Cards going 3-1 during that span.  The Cards may have done well without him but they do need him back.  For his own sake, Kolb needs to return now.  [...]

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Season, Breaking News, Cardinals, Fanzone | COMMENTS: None Yet

He did it again. The Arizona Cardinals first round pick, cornerback/punt return specialist Patrick Peterson, won his second NFC Special Teams Player of the Week honors of his short career.  Now 11 games into his career, Peterson won the NFC award this week for his 80-yard punt return for touchdown.  It was his fourth punt return for touchdown of the season, tying the NFL record for one-season.

Cardinals Play Four of Final Five at Home

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Season, Cardinals, Fanzone | COMMENTS: None Yet

The NFL schedule makers weren’t kind early to the Arizona Cardinals, at least from a home game perspective.  However, with just five weeks left in the NFL Regular Season, they will get to play four of those weeks at home.  The only road game?  Christmas Eve at the Cincinnati Bengals.  They don’t leave home again until Christmas Eve.  Merry Christmas indeed.  Maybe the Cards, who are 2-2 at home this season, can rack up at least a couple of wins in these next three games, all at home.

Nine Observations About the Cardinals-Rams Game

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Season, Cardinals, Fanzone | COMMENTS: None Yet

I was waiting for a Cardinals game that I could thoroughly enjoy reporting on. Well, it finally came this week, as the Arizona Cardinals beat the St. Louis Rams 23-20. There was much to like about the Cardinals performance, and only a few things to dislike. Here are my nine observations about the game: 1) First, the bad news. John Skelton had an awful game. In fact, I was texting my son at the end of the first half, saying that it might have even been a good idea to start Richard Bartel in the second half to get the [...]

Beanie Wells, Patrick Peterson Lead Cardinals to 23-20 Victory Over Rams

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Season, Breaking News, Cardinals, Fanzone, Gameday | COMMENTS: None Yet

Beanie Wells.  Patrick Peterson.  That’s all you need to know today about the Arizona Cardinals.  I could throw in Daryl Washington and Sam Acho as well for good measure.  Wells ran for a career-high and Cardinals single-game record of 228 yards and a touchdown.  He was just simply a beast today.  He even left the game briefly – twice, with injury.  He showed his determination today.  Simply awesome.  Peterson returned his fourth punt for a touchdown this season and that’s all you need to know in the Cards 23-20 victory over the St. Louis Rams.

Patrick Peterson, No Longer a Secret, Still Baffling Special Teams Units

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Season, Cardinals, Fanzone, Gameday | COMMENTS: 2 Comments

Arizona Cardinals cornerback and punt returner Patrick Peterson returned his fourth punt for a touchdown of the season this afternoon against the St. Louis Rams.  It was an 80-yard return in the third quarter.  All four of his punt return TD’s have gone for at least 80 yards.  I thought the secret was already out.  If it wasn’t before, it is now.  Peterson’s efforts today tie the NFL record for most punt returns for a TD in a season.

Arizona Cardinals Down 10-3 at Halftime to St. Louis Rams

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Season, Breaking News, Cardinals, Fanzone, Gameday | COMMENTS: None Yet

It hasn’t been a pretty game so far.  However, Arizona Cardinals running back Beanie Wells has looked good.  He has carried the ball nine times for 118 yards.  It has been nice to see.  The Cards need to get in the end zone though.  All they have to show for the offense so far is Wells and a Jay Feely field goal.  Quarterback John Skelton has looked horrible.  He has overthrown receivers all day so far.  Even Larry Fitzgerald can’t catch Skelton’s balls today. The St. Louis Rams lead the Cards 10-3 at halftime.

Kevin Kolb Inactive Again; Cards May be Better off With Him on IR

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Season, Breaking News, Cardinals, Fanzone, Gameday | COMMENTS: None Yet

I’ve been a Kevin Kolb supporter all season long.  I still am, however this will he or won’t he play charade the Arizona Cardinals play every week is getting very old.  We get the “well he got some practice in”, “well he still walks with a slight limp”, “well..well…well”.  Enough.  As much as I’ve said Kolb needs to be the starter no matter how John Skelton performs, it is time.  It is time for the Cards to send Kolb to Injured Reserve, let him properly rehab the injured toe, and let Skelton finish out the season.  Kolb should still be [...]

Arizona Cardinals 2012 Draft Possibilities

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Season, 2012 Draft, Cardinals, Fanzone, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

So, now that there is almost no chance at the playoffs, it is time to look at where the Arizona Cardinals will be picking in the first round in the 2012 NFL Draft in April.  They could very well end up with a top ten pick.  Going into this week, the Cards would be picking eighth in the draft based on league records.  We know there will most likely not be any Andrew Luck sweepstakes and honestly that is for the best.

Arizona Cardinals Have Some Great Looking Young Talent

AUTHOR: | IN: 2011 Season, Cardinals, Fanzone, Popular | COMMENTS: None Yet

The Arizona Cardinals are older in some positions however in some others they have some promising young talent that could provide big plays for the Cards for many years to come.  Guys like Sam Acho, Daryl Washington, Patrick Peterson, David Carter, and O’Brien Schofield have all show much promise for the future.  They’ve probably seen more time this season thanks to their losing record.
