Daryl Washington Leading the Cardinals Defense

He is listed at 6-2 and 230 pounds, but if you ask those players who have been met head on and tackled by Darryl Washington, they’ll tell you it’s like running into a brick wall.

Washington is probably the biggest reason why the Cardinals defense has been playing so well.  He is leading the team in total tackles with 84, and also has four sacks and two interceptions so far this year.  He has been all over the field — plugging holes, covering receivers, and assisting on tackles.

Cardinal fans were worried last year when a linebacker wearing #58 bolted to play for Miami.  Fortunately, we have a new #58, who is quickly earning a reputation as a pretty darn good defensive player in his own right.
