It all started with a trade of wide receiver Brandon Marshall from the Miami Dolphins to the Chicago Bears, even before the first free agent signing was announced. The first free agent signing a little later was Pierre Garcon signing with the Washington Redskins. On day one, it was all about the wide receivers, a position of need for the Arizona Cardinals. The list of above average wide receivers shrunk considerably on day one of the free agency period.
Here are the receivers that signed contracts on Tuesday, in addition to Garcon, on the first day of free agency:
Vincent Jackson, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Harry Douglas, Atlanta Falcons
Reggie Wayne, Indianapolis Colts
Marques Colston, New Orleans Saints
Josh Morgan, Washington Redskins
It was a busy day. Laurent Robinson, Chaz Schilens, Robert Meachem, Mario Manningham, Anthony Gonzalez are just some of the bigger names still out there in free agency that are still available. Word is Eddie Royal is on his way to Washington as well. Cards could be pretty active the next couple of days.
