I have always felt that a blocked kick is the most exciting play in a football game. A blocked punt more often than not results in an immediate score (or an eventual one), and a blocked field goal can often contribute to a 6- or 10-point score differential.
Last season, the Cardinals blocked five field goals, mostly due to the kick blocking ability of Patrick Peterson and Calais Campbell. Look for Bethel to regularly be on that line this coming year, trying to get his hands on an opposing kicker’s field goal attempt. The Cardinals may even surpass last year’s impressive total of blocked field goals, with this impressive new rookie on the team this year.
