No Quarterbacks Standing Out at Senior Bowl

So I’m in the middle of watching the Senior Bowl.  Knowing the Arizona Cardinals greatest need is quarterback, I’m very interested in seeing how the quarterbacks playing are performing.  As of right now, with about nine minutes left in the game, no one is standing out saying “pick me”.  It also doesn’t include Matt Barkley or Geno SmithTyler Wilson, who many are looking at as a possibility for the Cardinals at number seven in the 2013 NFL Draft, is 8-11, but for only 39 yards.  The Cards are looking for a down the field passer who will grab a lot of yardage.  Those numbers remind me a lot of Matt Leinart.

Granted everyone is getting about the same amount of the time playing today, but guys like Mike Glennon did not impress.  I also am watching E.J. Manuel, many who are not talking about.  The Florida State product is 6-8 for 70 yards, which statistically is good.  He also has one touchdown and one interception.  Not sure he is worth a first round pick.

We still have a lot to go through between now and the end of April when the draft occurs, but these games do give us somewhat of a glimpse of what’s to come.  Let’s also remember though these guys are playing against the best seniors, not necessarily against the overall best college players.

This hasn’t been a great offensive game and the Cards will be looking to the offensive side of the ball first most likely.  If not a quarterback, then an offensive lineman.  I would also not rule out a middle round wide receiver to pop up on the Cards draft board either.
