When  the news broke last night, it was a bit of a surprise that Arizona Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington was being sought by Phoenix police for his part in a domestic dispute.  As of this evening, he still has not met with police.  Word was he and his attorney were going to meet with them today.  Apparently that meeting has still not taken place.

He is accused of choking an ex-girlfriend.  Fox 10 got ahold of a text between the two prior to the event where Washington wanted to come spend time with his kid.  She declined.  Not sure what happened from that point on.  At this point, I won’t rush to judgement and neither should anyone else until all the facts come out.  This much I know though, on the heels of a four-game suspension to start the 2013 season, the timing couldn’t have been any worse.

D-Wash needs to come out and soon.  People want answers and hopefully they will get them.  His ex-girlfriend supposedly isn’t any saint but that isn’t any excuse.  He needs to be professional both on and off the field.  The Cards went out and got Kevin Minter to add depth because of those first four games. Now he could be asked to fill in for D-Wash even longer if anything comes of these allegations and he ends up missing any more than those first four games.

Let’s hope for the best for all parties involved.
