With the uncertain situation and availability of Arizona Cardinals linebacker Daryl Washington, the Cards may turn to an old friend in Karlos Dansby to help bring some veteran leadership.  He met with the team on Wednesday and according to reports, the meeting went well.  The question is, is this someone we want back in the fold?

Dansby has garnered interest from a few other teams, so if the Cards are genuinely interested, he may not be around for long.  No contract was discussed, however I imagine there could be one sticking point – money.  It was in part the reason he left the Cards in the first place and it is also the reason the Miami Dolphins let him go.  Dansby is now 31 years old.

I would love to have Dansby back.  He’s familiar with the organization and some of the team, although this team now looks vastly different than the one he left a few seasons back.  The price has to be right and with the other teams interested, they have to know the Cards need linebacker help even after what they did in the draft, because of Washington.

I just hope the Cards make a quick yes or no decision on him.  If he is the right guy, sign him quick.  If he isn’t, then move on and find another guy who would be a fit.  I think Kevin Minter will be a good one but he will need some veteran leadership to start out with.  Dansby can most definitely offer that.
