Arizona Cardinals: Max Starks Considering Signing With Cardinals

The Arizona Cardinals have done a lot to improve the offensive line, but extra depth is always welcome.

According to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, the Cardinals could add more depth on the offensive line. Free agent tackle Max Starks is reportedly considering the Cardinals, which would help add a veteran presence to a young line. Bobby Massie, Earl Watford, Jonathan Cooper, Nate Potter and Scott Weidge are all very young, and adding depth to the league’s worst line in 2012 wouldn’t hurt.

Starks weighs 345 pounds and is 6’8″, so he can take on big defensive tackles. If the highly-regarded veteran is signed by the Cardinals, he will start at one of the tackle positions. Starks’ size makes him an idea candidate to protect Palmer’s blind side, which is key. Expect Arizona to continue to address the line by pursuing Starks.

Only Two of those guys are starters. Bobby Massie was PPF Number 3 Ranked tackle, he really turn things around in weeks 9-17 not giving up a single sack and has way better OL coaches this year, so does Brown for that Matter. Any Cooper is this years #7 pick and should be a all-pro talent for years to come.If Max Starks starts LT they will move Brown into RG or maybe RT , brown would make for a devastating OG. You would see something like Starks-Cooper-Sendlein-Brown-Massie or maybe MassieRG BrownRT but I doubt they are moving Massie with his age and progress, he is a RToftF for many years. That would be a Devastating run blocking line, and Great in Pass Protection with how fast Palmer gets rid of the Ball.

That’s true. I think Starks could even get moved to guard with his size. If Brown comes back strong, having him and Massie at tackle and Cooper and Starks at guard would be great.

  • Pridenpoise

They better beef up that line, because Palmer won’t last the season, exactly how many QB’s did they go through last year?

    • Baily Deeter

Agree. The line cost Kolb his season.

  • Richard

    Get it done already.

Looks like he signed with San Diego.
