I am not considered a fantasy nut to say the least. However, if I was a betting man, I would gamble on making Carson Palmer my fantasy quarterback.

When I think about Palmer, I just cannot help but continue to compare him with the likes of Kurt Warner. When Warner went to the (Arizona Cardinals) desert, he was considered a cast off or should I say washed up. However, as we now know, the rest is history. Warner took the

Redbirds to an improbable run to the Super Bowl.

As I compare Warner to Palmer, pundits continue to believe that Palmer is perhaps washed up, or perhaps on the down side of his career. However, his recent numbers say that it is simply not the case, similar to Warner. Last year with the Raiders, Palmer
had a QB rating over 85, as well as over 4,000 yards passing, with 22 touchdowns and 14 interceptions.

As far as I am concerned, those are not bad numbers for a quarterback in an offense with below average receivers, along with a ton of injuries throughout the Raider offense; Furthermore, if you go back and look at his numbers throughout his career (since 2003), you will be pleasantly surprised.

Palmer has a career passer rating of 86.2 and 189 touchdowns and 130 interceptions for his career. Those are not bad numbers for a quarterback that really has not had many good teams throughout his career.

Even during the 2005 and 2006 seasons when he had his greatest success (with the Cincinnati Bengals); Palmer did his best work when his best receiver was a loose cannon or should I just say unreliable. Do I need to say any names? Ok I will give you a hint:  his last name (currently) is the numbers 8 and 5 in Spanish.

Now bring in Larry Fitzgerald (and running mates) with Bruce Arians and Tom Moore as his side line generals. If you ask me, this should be Palmers best situation of his career. In an offense that seems to be a perfect fit for him, with a reliable and perhaps one of the best receivers in the game.

Finally, if you are asking me and if I was a betting man; I would bet on Carson Palmer this year as my fantasy quarterback. For that matter, I would pick up Larry Fitzgerald as my fantasy receiver along the way.
