It was bad enough I had to hear the first Arizona Cardinals news of the morning that cornerback Rashad Johnson lost part of his middle.  Imagine what Johnson felt when it happened?  According to multiple reports this morning, Johnson lost the tip of his finger during yesterday’s game.

Talk about OUCH!  That’s not even the most interesting part of the story.  Johnson apparently doesn’t even know when during the game it happened.  He thinks it was during a punt return.  When he went to take his gloves off, part of his finger was still in it.  I mean, how crazy is that? He doesn’t know when he was injured?

It’s amazing to me he didn’t realize the severity until he took his gloves off.  Of course for most of us, ok maybe just me, I’d pass out.  Maybe you would too?  I don’t know but it’s hard to imagine walking around with the tip of your finger missing and not knowing it.  He probably felt the pain but just didn’t figure it out.

Now it is unknown if this was one of the season-ending injuries Cards head coach Bruce Arians was talking about after the game yesterday, however I have a hard time believing something like that would allow Johnson to play anytime soon.

The Cardinals also just announced that they lost linebackers Sam Acho and Lorenzo Alexander for the season.   It is a big hit on both as both were major contributors.

I guess it is another situation of wait and see though on Johnson.  Now I’m going to walk around all day with that image of finding the finger in the glove.  Oh boy.
