The Arizona Cardinals and Tampa Bay Buccaneers have announced their inactives for today’s game.  The list for the Cards included safety Rashad Johnson, who lost the tip of his middle finger last week in New Orleans.  Also included is Bucs quarterback Josh Freeman.

Arizona Cardinals inactives:

S Rashad Johnson, QB Ryan Lindley, T Bobby Massie, LB Kevin Minter, G Earl Watford, DT Dan Williams, RB Ryan Williams

Tampa Bay inactives:

QB, Josh Freeman, CB Michael Adams, G Gabe Carimi, TE Tom Crabtree, DT Derek Landri, CB Rashaan Melvin, DE Trevor Scott

So not only did Freeman get benched, he won’t even be the backup today.  Word this morning is his days are done in Tampa.  He is likely to be traded or released sooner than later.  By him being inactive for Sunday’s game when he is healthy speaks volumes about his position with the team.  He lost his captain tag before the season, was benched, and was vocal this week in his request for a trade.  He’s done.

As for the Cards, it is a little disappointing that Johnson can’t go, however it is probably for the best.  How effective was he going to be anyway with his hand all wrapped up?  He will have his hand wrapped up whenever he plays again, however he gives this injury time to heal a bit and maybe leaves Johnson a little less timid on the field.
