The Arizona Cardinals are 4-4 after their win over the Atlanta Falcons on Sunday.  Now that they’ve put their short two-game losing streak to bed after an impressive win, why would I say the Cards bye week comes at a good time?  Normally I’d say I wish it wasn’t here yet.

First of all – the bye week is inevitable.  Every team is required to have one but at some point every team needs one.  The Cards probably have needed one the past two weeks but you can’t ask for any better time than half-way through your schedule.  Crazy I know, you want momentum.  However you know what else Cards need?  They need to get healthy.

The Cards were hit hard early on in the season with injuries.  Some of them are still being nursed, such as receiver Larry FitzgeraldRashard Mendenhall continues to nurse his injury, however he may be shelved longer than the bye week given the performances of Andre Ellington and Stepfan Taylor against the Falcons.  Regardless it gives him time to heal in case they do plan on using him again down the road.

If the Cards can get relatively healthy it gives them even more of a chance to stay in the playoff hunt come December.  November provides a very favorable schedule for them.  December presents a couple of challenges so it is important the Cards have as many weapons as they can get at their disposal.
