My Take on Cardinals Versus Eagles this Sunday

This Sunday in Philadelphia will definitely be an interesting one. Both teams are on win streaks and both teams are starting to mesh really well into their new systems. One thing stands out for me though..They haven’t really played anybody since week 4!

Let’s look at their schedule:

Eagles Schedule

The Giants, Packers, and Redskins would have all been brutal games last year..but this year those teams have all fallen apart. And the Raiders…are still the Raiders. The only “tough” game they have had recently was against Dallas in week 7. Some would even argue that their only challenge was week 3 & 4 against the Chiefs & Broncos.

This Cardinals team has already been battle tested. Playing in the NFC West is no joke, it’s more of a gauntlet. Not to mention beating Detroit, playing New Orleans, beating Carolina, and beating Indianapolis last Sunday. The Cardinals have one of the hardest schedules this year and they are proving to be tough enough to make it out alive.

The NFC East is just a weaker division this year. I think the Philadelphia Eagles are going to be surprised when Arizona rolls into town with it’s stout defense. Nick Foles has done well for the Eagles as of late, but their offensive line is still causing him to run more than he needs to. Expect the Cardinals pass rush to force some turnovers. Don’t forget McCoy who is averaging almost 5 yards per carry. That will be Arizona’s priority to stop him from any big runs. On the flip side, Arizona’s offense is thriving as Carson Palmer and the receivers seem to be clicking on all cylinders. The Eagles defense has been struggling, allowing 300 passing yards per game as well as 118 yards rushing. Look for Arizona to capitalize on that.

Overall I think Philadelphia is just outmatched this Sunday and will be on the outside looking in for the playoffs.
