A couple of months ago it was rumor.  Now the rumor has been rendered true with an official announcement by the NFL that the 2015 Pro Bowl will in fact be played in Glendale at University of Phoenix Stadium on Sunday January 25th, 2015.  It will be played one week before the Super Bowl on Sunday February 1st in Glendale.

I know a lot of football fans could care less about the game.  Trust me I know many could care less.  They complain and they complain loudly.  Here’s my take on the game though.  I understand it is no fun to watch guys not be able to hit each other.  I know it isn’t any fun to have all kinds of regular rules thrown out the door.  Even the attempt at changing things up by having Jerry Rice and Deion Sanders pick squads was met with much discontent.  Here’s the thing though folks.  It’ll bring in a lot of money locally.  It’ll bring the NFL’s best, less the players from the two Super Bowl participants of course.

You will not be able to convince me this is anything but a win for Phoenix and the state of Arizona.  It’s more than just about the game itself.  It’s an event.  Hopefully fans get out to the game and enjoy it.  It’s yet another chance for Arizona to shine in the spotlight positively.  Let’s just hope there aren’t any Arizona Cardinals players in the game because we all know what that means.  As part of the announcement the NFL stated the 2016 game will be back in Hawaii.
