The Arizona Cardinals have made their first move of the 2014 NFL Draft.  They have traded their number 20 pick to the New Orleans Saints in exchange for the Saints first round pick.  I always said this could be a possibility of trading down.  For now the Cards stay in the first round.

So all that drama leading up to what could have been a huge pick and the Cards trade down.  Arizona not only picks up the Saints pick at 27, they also get the 91st pick overall in the third round.  Personally I believe it is a great move for the Cardinals.  They appear to still get a great player at number 27, just seven spots away.

The 27 spot could still see guys like Johnny Manziel and Teddy Bridgewater on the board.  Maybe Derek Carr is still there when the Cards pick.  There will also be other opportunities to get a corner or safety.  So, you have to like what the Cards did there.

For the record, the Saints go offense and pick wide receiver Brandin Cooks from Oregon State.  A decent move for the Saints.
