In an interview on KTAR the other morning, Arizona Cardinals quarterback Carson Palmer sounded like a guy very happy to be in Arizona and thankful for what tools he has been provided in order to be successful in 2014 and beyond.  One of the position he pointed out was the tight end, a position the Cards have seen little production from over the last few seasons.

Palmer was particularly excited about the arrival of veteran tight end John Carlson.  Carlson has battled injuries and low production the last few seasons but Palmer indicated he has a high comfort level with Carlson.  He said Carlson grasped the Cards playbook rather quickly and loves throwing to him.  He also mentioned he was excited the Cards still have tight end Jake Ballard.  Interestingly he never mentioned Rob Housler.  That should be a tell tale sign Housler’s days are certainly numbered in Arizona.

Palmer said he is happy to come to work everyday, including the OTA’s, which continue this week in Arizona and around the NFL.  We are less than two months away from training camp.  To hear that from Palmer now should be exciting news to all Cards fans.  I know I’m excited.  I can’t wait to see what Palmer, Carlson, and Ballard can accomplish.
