Arizona Cardinals Roster Profile: Marcus Benard

As the Arizona Cardinals finish off the off-season in preparation for the start of training camp on July 25th in Glendale at University of Phoenix Stadium, we are going to take a look at the team roster from A to Z as it currently stands.  Next up is linebacker Marcus Benard.

2013 season: One of the Cards outside linebackers pieces that was part of the revolving door last season with injuries and inconsistent performances. Benard played in 12 games, starting one, in 2013.  He had two and a half sacks and one forced fumble.  He also has one pass defensed. The career backup has 14.5 sacks for his career.

2014 season: He’ll be in the mix once again.  He’s a nice backup who fills the role rather nicely.  Is there room for improvement?  Of course and I like others will expect it.  I won’t say he makes the final 53- man roster but his chances are good.
