When the name Ted Ginn Jr is mentioned one normally doesn’t think of wide receiver, he is usually automatically thought of as a special teams player. He had limited time as a receiver throughout his seven year career.

Although, his career best as a receiver was 2008 with the Miami Dolphins where he recorded 56 catches 790 yards and 2 td’s, the Arizona Cardinals would be ecstatic to get those numbers from Ginn as their third option.

But what they may end up getting are numbers that look more like his 2013 season with the Carolina Panthers where he had 36 catches for 556 yards and 5 td’s, simply because of the emergence of Michael Floyd and of course number one star receiver Larry Fitzgerald.

There may not be many opportunities available outside the deep ball and playing on special teams as the teams kick off returner.
The Cardinals did not just bring him in as a special teams player, he is listed as a full-time number three wide receiver on the depth chart. With his speed his role will be to run away from the coverage and take the safeties with him down field.

His 2014 season may look like this: 38 receptions, 545 yards and 4 td’s, and not to mention he will return 1or 2 kick-offs for touchdowns, even in the era where kickoff’s are a touch-back the majority of the time.
