The Arizona Cardinals reported for training camp yesterday in Glendale.  The long preseason and regular season march toward a possible Super Bowl at home this upcoming February started with 90 players reporting to get down to business.  Today the Cards will have their first practice at University of Phoenix Stadium.

Practice time today will be from 2-4:30 pm.  Get out there Birdgang and support your team if you can.  It’s a great way to beat the heat of the summer day.  Early on the players to watch will be the newbies.  How will tight end John Carlson look?  Quarterback Carson Palmer indicated about a month or so ago that they were meshing well together.  How will the aging Larry Foote, a former Pittsburgh Steeler look on defense?  There is no Daryl Washington to watch this season unfortunately.

Running back will feature five or six guys that could be competing for three to four spots.  Clearly Andre Ellington is the number one guy but after that it is all a guess at this point.  You have newly signed Jonathan Dwyer in the fold, yet another former Steeler. Robert Hughes and local favorite Zach Buaman will also be fun to watch.  Stepfan Taylor will continue to grow.  I look for him to be third on the depth chart right now.

Let’s do this!
