As the Arizona Cardinals are in preparation for the season with training camp now in full swing in Glendale at University of Phoenix Stadium, we are taking a look at the team roster from A to Z as it currently stands. Next up is outside linebacker Matt Shaughnessy.
2013 season: Shaughnessy played in all 16 games last season, starting 12 of them. He had 36 tackles and three sacks. He also recovered three fumbles and forced another. He also had one pass defensed.
2014 season: After Shaughnessy was a pleasant surprise last year coming over from the Oakland Raiders, now the Cards will rely on him even more this season with the losses they have seen from the outside linebacker position. His career highs in tackles and sacks both cam in 2010 with the Raiders. He had 56 tackles and seven sacks that season. I would expect to see that kind of production from him this year. If he is able to do that, then it could allow the Cards to quickly forget some of what they lost.
