Amongst the final 53-man roster for the Arizona Cardinals are three quarterbacks.  There was really never any question about carrying three.  Some carry two and one on the practice squad but the Cards went with three as usual.  Here is a look at them.

Carson Palmer – Palmer enters his 12th season in the NFL.  Last season, his first with the Cards, he threw for 4,274 yards with 24 touchdowns and 22 interceptions. This season, some have predicted he’ll throw for more yards given a better offensive line and more weapons at receiver.  I even saw one prediction of at least 5,000 yards.  I won’t go that far but I fully expect him to match if not better his 24 touchdowns from last season and reduce the interceptions.

Drew Stanton – Stanton is a valuable guy to have at backup.  Hopefully we don’t have to find out just how valuable this season.  He didn’t make it into a game last season but he played decently in the preseason and should make Cards fans feel good should something happen to Palmer, Stanton can step right in and perform the job necessary.

Logan Thomas – Thomas was up and down in the preseason.  He had a great debut preseason week one against the Houston Texans going 11-12 for 113 yards and a touchdown.  He didn’t play particularly well in week four when he started against the San Diego Chargers.  He by no means is a “project” but he has a lot of learning to do.  One moment he’ll wow you and the next he’ll leave you thinking about what the heck you just watched.  It will be good for him to sit and learn from a couple of good ones in front of him.
