Here are RaisingZona’s initial power rankings are we prepare for the start of the NFL season tomorrow September 4th in Seattle.  The top several teams there’s really no debate but the middle of the pack this year there are a lot of teams on the rise and some on a downward trend.  The Arizona Cardinals do have room to move and improve but of course we are still very high on their chances this season.

Seattle Seahawks
Champs start Thursday night against the Packers. Should be fun.
Denver BroncosBroncos will be without Wes Welker for 4 weeks. Look for Emmanual Sanders targets.
New England PatriotsTom Brady us back but not happy minus Logan Mankins who was traded.
New Orleans SaintsThe Saints have new weapons on offense. I like Brandon Cooks at WR.
Green Bay PackersThe Packers looking to get back on track after injury riddled 2013.
San Francisco 49ersMany are predicting doom and gloom for the Niners, who can't stay out of trouble. I'll believe it when I see it.
Cincinnati BengalsA very good defense and a decent offense equals good things should happen.
Chicago BearsStill a lot of unknown but Jay Cutler returns at QB with Brandon Marshall at WR
Indianapolis ColtsThe Colts running game will need to step it up to help Andrew Luck and company
Arizona CardinalsCards reloaded at offense. Questions on defense but they should have a good season.
San Diego ChargersChargers have a number of weapons on offense and can compete as long as QB Philip Rivers limits turnovers.
Philadelphia EaglesMixed bag on Eagles. Many see great things from QB Nick Foles and company but questions still remain on both sides of the ball.
Pittsburgh SteelersBig Ben is back at QB. If they can take care of winning in first month of season, unlike last season, they are headed in right direction.
Kansas City ChiefsThe Chiefs have a great RB in Jamaal Charles. Question is, how much will the defense give up?
Baltimore RavensThe Ravens will be without RB Ray Rice for the first two weeks. LB Terrell Suggs is aging.
Carolina PanthersLost weapons on offense and have an aging and oft-injured RB corps.
Detroit LionsQB Matthew Stafford can still sling it, but will it be to the right team?
New York Jets QB Geno Smith had moments of greatness last year and moments that left fans scratching heads. I think you see more positive in 2014.
Miami DolphinsCan the Dolphins overcome last year's off the field mess? Will they do enough to keep fans interested in coming to games?
St. Louis RamsNo Sam Bradford. Shaun Hill is the new QB. They still have a great defensive line.
Atlanta FalconsI see some people saying they won't be better than last season, a surprise 4-12 team.
Tampa Bay BuccaneersNew coach Lovie Smith. New starting quarterback Josh McCown. New uniforms. Looking at same old results.
Minnesota VikingsBiggest question is how long will the Vikings go with Matt Cassel at QB before going to Teddy Bridgewater?
New York GiantsQuestions on OL and at WR, RB, defense. Oh, and they have turnover happy Eli Manning.
Dallas CowboysTony Romo coming off of back surgery. The defense leaves a lot to be desired.
Tennessee TitansJake Locker is still the QB. They have decent WR's but it could be a long season in Nashville.
Houston TexansJadeveon Clowney is the real deal. J.J. Watt has a new contract. They just traded for QB Ryan Mallett.
Washington RedskinsStill questions over RGIII's durability and ability. Many still want Kirk Cousins.
Jacksonville JaguarsQB Blake Bortels will be very good soon. They will have to continue to take their lumps until then.
Buffalo BillsWill the ownership issue be a distraction? Maybe but their issues run much deeper.
Oakland RaidersRaiders are going to go with Derek Carr at QB in week one, the only team to start a rookie. Enough said.
Cleveland BrownsSuch a franchise in disarray. Lose WR Josh Gordon for season and it could be musical QB's this season.
