In an interesting move, the Arizona Cardinals have released linebacker Desmond Bishop.  Bishop, joined Cards in the preseason after spending last year with the Minnesota Vikings  and then the Green Bay Packers  previous to that.

The move may have been precipitated by the status of punter Dave Zastudil.  Zastudil was listed as questionable on the Saturday injury report for the Cards.  This could mean the Cards are getting ready to add another punter to the roster for this week.  Zastudil has a pulled groin issue he is dealing with.  That’s never good as a punter.

As for Bishop, hopefully this isn’t the end of the road.  He missed much of last season with an injury in Minnesota.  He appeared to have a very good camp.  This could be a case where they had an overload of linebackers and could spare one for this week.  If this is a short term thing for Zasty, then maybe Bishop returns later if he doesn’t sign elsewhere.  As always, stay tuned.
