Well the Arizona Cardinals finally made official what we’ve all been waiting for.  Running back Andre Ellington is officially listed as questionable for Monday night’s game against the San Diego Chargers.  He will be a gametime decision.

Yesterday there was a lot of speculation as to his status and I wouldn’t believe anything one way or the other until we heard it from the Cards.  On Saturday afternoon, coach Bruce Arians confirmed that the Cards will decide on Ellington’s status on Monday.

I can’t say what you should do as a fantasy owner this week but as a Cards fan, this sounds optimistic.  On Friday there were reports of him being a gametime decision to being out more than six weeks.  You just couldn’t believe any of the sources until the official word came out.  Certainly there is still a need to be cautious with his status and he may still not play but the fact that Ariams said he wouldn’t need surgery right now is positive.

Arizona said this injury is something that could be different each day.  This could be part of the confusion amongst different media that had different opinions about his official status.  For now, Ellington rests and hopefully we get a chance to see him Monday.
