Dominique Williams time on the Arizona Cardinals practice squad lasted all of about a week.  On Tuesday, the team placed the running back on injured reserve, effectively ending his rookie season.  He was drafted in May in the sixth-round by the Minnesota Vikings and then cut at the end of the preseason.

Williams, from Wagner College in New York City, rushed for 4,435 yards last season, third-most in school history.  He made it to the final cut down to get down to the 53-man roster limit on August 30th.  The Vikings had hoped to add him back onto their practice squad but the Cards picked him up and now his rookie season is over before it really started.

There was no news as to what the cause or the nature of the injury was.  We wish him well and hopefully he comes back stronger.  The Cards signed running back Chris Rainey onto the practice squad in his place.
