The Arizona Cardinals played a tough game on Monday night against the San Diego Chargers, defeating them 18-17.  Combined with some losses by other high-level teams, it was enough to carry them a little higher in this week’s power rankings.

Teams like the Kansas City Chiefs, St. Louis Rams, Dallas Cowboys, and Chicago Bears may have been a little too overrated to start season.  Teams like the Buffalo Bills, Tennessee Titans, Minnesota Vikings, and Atlanta Falcons all proved, for at least a week, they may not end up being as bad as previously though.

The key injuries were to the Houston Texans’ Jadeveon Clowney out 4-6 weeks and the Chiefs Derrick Johnson, now out for the season.  The first week is always a crapshoot but I think now we will really start finding more out about teams and the their trends.  One thing is for sure, I don’t think anyone can beat the Seattle Seahawks except themselves and maybe a division rival.
