Arizona Cardinals: Remembering Pat Tillman on 9/11

I don’t think I need to replay it for you.  Exactly 13 years from the time this piece was published, American Airlines Flight 11 crashed into the North Tower of the World Trade Center in what set off a chaotic day of tragedy.  The day so affected that of Arizona Cardinals safety Pat Tillman, he enlisted in the United States Army in June of 2002 and eventually joined the Army Rangers.  He gave up everything personally for his country.

Tillman as you know gave up his professional football career.  A linebacker in college at Arizona State, he moved to safety in the NFL and was expected to have a lengthy career.  Then September 11, 2001 happened and he had a new mission in life.  Go fight for his country instead of on the field against other football players.

Tillman was the true definition of sacrifice.  He always had the heart of a soldier on the field and off.  Let’s take time to remember what he and thousands of others have done in helping to protect our freedoms before him, with him, and after him.  Please take a moment to remember those lost and those who spent countless hours searching for the lost on that late summer day.
