Arizona Cardinals linebacker John Abraham failed his concussion protocol test on Tuesday.  This means he will need to wait until Wednesday to attempt again to be cleared to play this upcoming Sunday.

Abraham, who left the team last Tuesday to contemplate retirement, suffered a concussion in the Monday night opening victory against the San Diego Chargers.  He said he had been suffering memory loss for the better part of the past year.

As much as the Cardinals need to develop a pass rush, Abraham’s health is most important.  Of course, the Cards can’t play him until he is cleared, however even if he is cleared, my hope is that the Cards are smart with him.  If it is in his best interest, then sit him.  Of course against the San Francisco 49ers we’d all love to see him play but not only do the Cards need to think long-term here but also about his life.  All that being said, we should know more by tomorrow night.
